Current research profile

  • I supervise PhD students working in ecotoxicology, ecogenomics and evolution (with D. Roelofs and C.A.M. van Gestel).
  • I am greatly interested in the evolution of body plans in the animal kingdom, phylogenetic reconstruction of the tree of life, and the origin of life, to support my teaching.
  • I have a special interest in human evolution (paleontology, human genetic variation and human development).
